Recipe Health Benefits:
Avocado:
Avocado is a nutrient-dense fruit known for its heart-healthy monounsaturated fats. It's rich in fiber, which supports digestion and helps with satiety. Avocado also contains vitamins like E, K, and C, as well as potassium, which can help regulate blood pressure and support overall cardiovascular health.
Yogurt (Plain/Goat/Coconut/Almond):
Yogurt is a probiotic powerhouse, contributing to gut health by providing beneficial bacteria. It's a good source of calcium, promoting strong bones and teeth. The protein content in yogurt helps with muscle maintenance and repair. Different variations like goat, coconut, or almond yogurt provide options for lactose-intolerant individuals or those seeking dairy alternatives.
Tomato:
Tomatoes are a great source of antioxidants, particularly lycopene, which has been linked to reducing the risk of certain cancers and promoting skin health. They also provide vitamins A, C, and potassium, contributing to immune function and heart health.
Lemon or Lime Juice:
These citrus fruits are high in vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that supports immune function and skin health. They also contain compounds that can aid digestion and provide a refreshing flavor to dishes.
Cayenne Pepper:
Cayenne pepper contains capsaicin, a compound that gives it its spicy kick. Capsaicin is believed to have metabolism-boosting properties and may help reduce appetite, making it beneficial for weight management. It also has potential anti-inflammatory effects.
Sea Salt and Black Pepper:
While these are used in small amounts for flavor, they can contribute trace minerals and enhance the taste of dishes. Moderation is key to enjoy their benefits without excessive sodium intake.
